Robert Hafendorfer

Hello, I am Bob Hafendorfer (Mr. Bob is fine!) and I am honored to be principal of Hillview Academy.  I am the Director of Pupil Personnel for Spencer County Public Schools as well.  Before coming to work for Spencer County Public Schools well over a decade ago, I worked in a medical setting treating patients with behavioral and psychological needs as well as in the areas of substance and alcohol treatment.  I hold degrees and certifications in school psychology, occupational therapy, school counseling, and curriculum and instruction. 

Hillview Academy features a positive, disciplined school environment with an emphasis on safety, caring, and success.  Negativity towards anyone is not acceptable.  At Hillview, higher expectations for our students are established so that each student may achieve higher expectations for his or her own self.  

Hillview Academy’s instructors are certified educators who hold their Rank 1 certification. We also employ an instructor certified in Special Education, allowing us to provide high quality instruction to students with cognitive barriers to learning.

In closing, the goal of the Hillview Academy program is to teach the student skills that will help him or her to become successful both in and outside of school at present as well as later, in his or her adult life.
