Due to the potential for sleet and freezing rain through the morning hours, we want to err on the side of caution. Spencer County Schools will utilize Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Please stay safe, and thank you for your understanding.

NTI Day #7
Tonight our 8th grade students had the opportunity to present their Kentucky Projects to the Spencer County Board of Education โ€” and they absolutely impressed!

These students went above and beyond in both their designs and depth of knowledge. Their research was thoughtful, detailed, and clearly reflected the time and effort they invested in truly understanding their topics.

It was inspiring to see them confidently share their work, answer questions, and showcase the pride they have in their learning. Experiences like this help build communication skills, critical thinking, and leadership โ€” all qualities that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

We are so proud of our students and thankful for teachers who guide and support this level of excellence.

Built to Last โ€” Through the Eyes of a Student

Spencer County Schools is proud to share this incredible banner artwork designed by Lily Baker, a 10th grade student at Spencer County High School, for the Kentucky School Boards Association annual conference.

Each year, KSBA invites districts across the state to submit student-designed banners that reflect the conference theme and serve as powerful reminders that students are our why. This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œBuilt to Last,โ€ comes to life through Lilyโ€™s creativity, vision, and heart.

Her design beautifully represents the many pathways our students can pursue in Spencer County โ€” from education and healthcare to technical careers, service, and beyond โ€” all grounded in the strong foundation built right here in Spencer County Schools.

We are incredibly grateful for Lilyโ€™s talent and the time she dedicated to creating artwork that will be displayed among districts from across Kentucky. What a wonderful way to showcase the strength, opportunity, and heart of our students!

Congratulations, Lily โ€” your work truly represents what it means to be Built to Last!

National FRYSC Appreciation Week

This week, we proudly celebrate our Family Resource & Youth Services Center (FRYSC) Team โ€” and there simply arenโ€™t enough words to express how loved and appreciated they are across Spencer County Schools.

Our FRYSC team goes above and beyond every single day to support students, families, and staff. Whether itโ€™s meeting basic needs, connecting families to resources, offering encouragement during tough times, or quietly stepping in wherever help is needed โ€” they do it all with compassion, dedication, and heart.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact is felt everywhere. Our schools are stronger, our families are supported, and our students are better prepared to succeed because of YOU.

Thank you for being advocates, problem-solvers, listeners, and champions for our community. Spencer County is truly blessed by this incredible team.

We love our FRYSC!
