Tonight's girls soccer game against Collins is now varsity only and will kick off at 7:00PM. Make sure to stay hydrated if you're out in this heat!

Volleyball won their home opener 3-0 over Cornerstone Christian, improving to 2-0 on the season. Way to go, Lady Bears!

Ready for another week of action? Check out the Bears' schedule and come out to support! Keep in mind that the JV girls & boys soccer teams, plus freshman and JV volleyball teams typically play before varsity, so come out early and catch our younger students' games, too!

It was a very hands-on Friday in many of our classes! Mrs. Roberts' Culinary 1 class made refrigerator pickles as part of their food preservation unit and Mr. Gardner's Art 2 class worked on charcoal hand drawings. We love to see our students interacting with the content.

Students needing to fulfill their Graduated Driver Licensing requirement can register for a free class by going to www.kentuckysafedriver.com and clicking on the Graduated Driver Licensing link or by calling 502/699-2295 to register. Next Class is September 17 at SCHS

Bears in Overtime, the SCHS after school tutoring program, starts Monday, August 26th. Please use the link to register your student(s)! https://shorturl.at/Ur41I

Did you know that SCHS students have the ability to gain valuable work experience and mentoring by local and regional business leaders through our work-based learning program? Follow along this academic year as we spotlight students who are excelling in their internships and co-op placements, while also acknowledging the collaboration of our employer partners who make these opportunities a reality!
Our first shout-out belongs to Lilly Graham. Lilly is an SCHS senior who is employed by the Spencer County Clerkโs Office.
โLilly has the best attitude and is so mature when talking to other government offices. I feel like we may learn as much from her as she will from us. We are looking forward to a great year!โ - Lynn Hesselbrock, Spencer County Clerk
Thank you, Clerk Hesselbrock, for your commitment to the success of our Spencer County students! Together, we CAN build a strong education and workforce system for our community.

Boys soccer took care of business in their home opener against Henry County tonight, walking away with a 7-1 victory over the Wildcats. Their next match is Wednesday at Thomas Nelson at 6:30.

Mrs. Ferguson is going to Edinburgh, Yorkshire, Stratford, London in Summer 2025, and youโre invited! Weโre excited to tell you more about the trip weโre planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://rsvp.eftours.com/6wp942s (If you attended the meeting last school year, do not need to attend again)
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, weโll talk about:
- How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What weโll see and do on our trip
- Everything thatโs included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How weโre keeping this safe and affordable
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EFโs risk-free enrollment period
We would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity! Can't attend the meeting but want more information? Click the RSVP link above and select "No, but send info".

There are lots of Bears taking the field and court this week- make plans to come out and support our student-athletes!

Mrs. Campbell's Body Systems students got to take our new Anatomage table for a spin! This interactive table offers digitized human cadavers for students to explore. Students can see real-life examples of how different ailments impact the human body.

The Lady Bears soccer team won their home opener and shut out Whitefield Academy 6-0 behind goals from Reagan, Sadie, Carly, Ava, and Kayla. What a great way to kick off the season!
